A great way to put in practice your geography lessons!
When I was in high school, I loved geography. I find it important to know the countries around the world. Granted, not everyone needs the information for their day-to-day life but when you watched the news or the Olympics, knowing where a country is located can be useful. As a homeschool mom (and a person who enjoyed geography), I always planned to introduce my kids to geography one day. Since last year, I have been blessed beyond measure with wonderful curriculum to teach the subject. This time, I’ve discover a wonderful app that could go on either the iPhone or the iPad – Stack the Countries.
This cute little app will challenge your kids to test their knowledge on World geography by asking them questions about the capitals, landmarks, major cities, continents, border countries, languages, flags, and country shapes. While answering questions about the world, your child can win a country and fill the whole world by doing so. It is even possible to map the country on a game to learn where the countries are located. We have recently started studying the world geography using two different yet complementary curriculum. This little app will help my kids to put into practice the lessons.
The graphics are fun for the kids and the questions are very pertinent to the major cities, landmarks, capitals and much more for a specific country. What I particularly like about this app is that I can’t predict what the next question will look like. You can have the possibility of answering a variety of questions on a specific country. Now, since I had the app, I have not come across one question on Canada yet. So I am pretty sure that numerous questions are programmed in this cute little app.
Stack the Countries has impressed me a lot. I had downloaded other apps on the subject of geography but I have not came across something that will incorporate the fun into the learning. I definitively recommend Stack the Countries to my homeschool friends. It will stretch the learning experience of their kids and of the moms too!
